Getting My Mixed Media On!!

Happy Wednesday!!

So there is a first time for everything..lol.

I have decided it was time to give the mixed media trend a try. I challenged myself to really give it a go while trying to keep true to me and my style, structure, layers and dimension. I am a clean scrapper and I have to admit I like to have control of where things go on my page, so for this page I decided to let my guard down a little and get a bit messy, but a controlled messy...lol.

I decided to base my page on chipboard so I pulled out my box of chipboard which I have accumulated over time on the thought of I will use that one day motto and starting layering. I have created layers of chipboard instead of patterned paper added twine, buttons, pegs, old film, flowers and metal flowers to create a very boyish page. The chipboard is old and very reused it has so many layers of old texture paste, gesso and paint its not funny, but I never throw anything chipboard away.

So here is my layout, which I am extremely happy with. It may not be liked by everyone but I am happy with it and that is all that counts in the end.

"Genuine"

I have used Luminarte Artist Pigments..which I love. The colours are amazing, so rich and lush just the way I like. I have added texture to the background but it wasn't quiet a bit enough area so it is all covered but it did look good, while you could see it.

As you can see the chipboard is very well used...lol. But I do like the texture of it, it adds interest I think.

I really like the effect of the metal flowers these are available at Scrap Matrix they have lots of little trinkets for your pages and a really lovely owner (Vicki) that is only to happy to help out with any questions you may have.

So there you have it my first mixed media layout, if you can call it that. I have created a couple of other pages and I will share in later posts.

Materials Used
Luminarte Artist Pigment - Mediterranean & Burnt Umber
Kaisercraft Rub Ons
Scrap Matrix Metal Flowers
Prima Parchment Petals Scrolls Flowers
Tim Holtz Old Film
Buttons
Mini Natural Pegs

Dusty Attic Chipboard (I think)
