Angelica Steampunk Angel - Joanne Bain

Hello!!

Here today sharing my latest Off The Page creation. I was inspired by last months release of the new Dusty Attic Dress Form it is quiet vintage and totally gorgeous so from that and a little imagination come Angelica the Steam Punk Angel.

'Angelica'

She is adorned with all things pretty and pink. I have added ribbons. flowers, and old dress jewellery. Her dress is made from lace and tulle.

To create the upright dress form you will need 2 Dress Forms, one dress form is left whole while the other is cut completely in half from top to bottom. I then glued the pieces to the front and back centre of the whole dress form. By doing this it creates a dimensional standing dress form. You can see in the image below how it has been attached.

To help give the legs some extra strength and to give the mannequin a platform to stand on I have used a large cog and glued each foot to the cog for stability.

I have added some extra cogs and flowers to the base for a feminine touch.

Her blouse has been made from card stock and then miniature cogs have been layered onto it. Ribbon has been used to create the straps for her dress.

All cogs have had texture paste added to them to give a rough appearance and then coloured using Luminarte Artist Pigment Burnt Umber.

To create her frayed wings I dipped the raw chipboard into water just long enough for the chipboard to start to peel apart.

I also added texture paste to the wings for added detail.

For the final touch I added a key to the middle of her back.
